Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, an American father-and-son team, created limited-edition furniture with their signature painterly touch, often rendering elaborate pastoral scenes through metalwork. This rectangular bronze coffee table was made circa 1960s-1970s. The design on the tabletop is acid etched and patinated, producing oxidized colors. The pair's signature is embossed on the lower segment of the etching. Structurally, the table is very simple, balancing the detailed with the minimal. The flattop measures 1 inch in thickness. It is secured to four tubular legs, which are in turn reinforced by tubular stretcher bars, United States, circa 1970
