Fulton (Pierce) Gerke was a self-taught artist from Lubbock, Texas. His painting gained national attention in the mid 1940's. He exhibited at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor (1947), New Orleans Arts and Crafts Club (1948), Ogunquit (Maine) Art Center (1949), and Allied Artists of America, New York (1947).
