framed late 18th century English hunt scene, oil on canvas, two men take a rest while hunting large hares / rabbits with a pack of hounds (lower left) while another pair of hunters take aim at their prey (lower right) in a beautiful country landscape, a winding river and mountains are visible in the distance, several sailing vessels are on the water and there are multiple buildings, including a cottage, a Georgian manor house, a church, a tall round tower with a crenelated parapet wall, one hunter's short striped waistcoat was very stylist in the mid-1780s
the period frame is an extremely beautiful example, carved and gilded oak leaves and acorns adorn the outer edge
