From the workshop of Paris cabinetmaker / Ébéniste Jacob-Desmalter (1770-1841), stamped "IACOB", a handsome Empire fauteuil / armchair with square back, ribbed arms and legs accented with gold metal appliques / trim pieces, each arm terminates in small sphere / ball with applied gold stars, six each ball (two missing), upholstered in pale cream leather with gold nailhead trim.
IACOB stamp was in use from 1815-1826.
