A very good quality, early 20th century Continental mahogany and parcel-gilt baroque-style secretary. In three parts, having a beautiful shaped top with a central curved section featuring a gilded shell, carved and gilded trim along the top edge, above two solid bookmatched figured mahogany doors with gilt trim, lock with key. Interior fitted with two adjustable shelves and siting on two small drawers. Below is a bombe form base containing the enclosed fitted interior revealing a writing surface with small drawers and open shelves. Two drawers below resting on block feet. The drawer fronts and doors have cross banding. Probably of German origin.
