Chinese Export Armorial Platter, the arms of MacGregor of MacGregor and should be Argent an oak tree eradicated in bend sinister surmounted of a sword in bend both proper, in the dexter canton an antique crown gules; crest, A lion's head proper (crowned with an antique crown - here omitted). The supporters are Dexter a unicorn argent (crowned), sinister a deer proper; and motto 'Een do and spare not'. The platter has a shaped rim / edge and a beautiful bamboo border, China, circa 1760

Ewan Murray (died 1778) fourth son of John MacGregor, alias Murray or one of his four brothers, or one of his four sons, two of which were colonels in the East India Company Service, one of those, John, created a Baronet.
