an Italian Renaissance-style hall bench, highly carved frame of blackened / dark wood with inlaid satinwood and bone marquetry panels, various hunt scenes with hounds / dogs and noblemen on horseback armed with spears, knives, and bows, in combat with big game animals, including a lion, a large wolf, a wild boar, a stag, and big cats?, on the central panel on the back of the bench is a portrait of a noble gentleman, the marquetry panel on the shaped crest depicts an elegant cartouche with cherub supporters, carved gryphon armrests each end, the hinged seat lifts to reveal storage inside, heavy wrought iron handles each end of the piece, Italy, late 18th century
