A very fine French 19th century ormolu-mounted mahogany and kingwood table à écrire (writing table) in the Louis XVI style, by E. Guillaume-Edmond Lexcellent. Lexcellent was born in Paris in 1834, was a maker and a retailer of the highest quality furniture, drawing inspiration from the work of Riesner and Weisweiler, as well as creating many original designs. His shop was situated in Paris at 46 Rue de Charenton in 1867, and at Rue de Bréguet from 1868. France, Circa 1870.
