a pair of 19th century Blackamoor torchieres, handsomely dressed male attendants / servants, standing on beautifully carved baroque polychromed pedestals, each holding aloft a six-branch flower form "torch" , the candle branches are gilt flowers and leaves (like a bouquet), the male figures are rich black lacquer / ebony with white teeth and eyes, their clothes; short tunics, jackets, gold sashes and shoes, are elaborately decorated with sgraffito decoration and gold and silver gilt, Italy. 2nd half of the 19th century.
