This exceptionally modeled pottery tea canister depicts a half profile of King George III in strong relief. The image was inspired by the artist / potter William Hackwood (England, 1757-1839) who was a modeler for Wedgwood from 1769 until 1832. The large impressive canister is painted in blue with satyr masks and a profusion of flower heads and leaves. England, late 18th century.
